Defects on MAXDATA notebooks

The Return-to-Base warranty

MAXDATA provides a minimum of 1 year return-to-base warranty and a maximum of 3 years. Please check your warranty documents for warranty status, or alternatively contact our Technical Support Line.
The warranty includes free repair of a manufacturing-related defect as well as the return of the repaired notebook or the exchanged components. You only pay for the costs of delivering the defective goods to MAXDATA according to your warranty status. As a rule, the repair will take five working days.

What to do …

… if your notebook is defective?

  1. Together with your reseller, carry out an error diagnosis.
  2. Exclude the possibility of a user or software error together with your reseller .
  3. Check the device's warranty period to exclude any repair costs.
  4. Back up your data before making the warranty claim.
  5. Contact the Technical Support line to report the fault and arrange a convenient time for the collection.

Overview of return-to-base warranty:

  • Please check your warranty documents or contact the Technical Support Line for further details on your warranty status.
  • You will have a repair warranty for defects resulting from defective components.
  • Customers are responsible for carriage costs to and from the the repair centre.
     
    Defect on a MAXDATA notebook with Collect & Return service

    MAXDATA provides a Collect and Return service as an upgrade option at time of initial purchase (please contact your reseller for further information).

      Please note:
    Speicherlösungen Do not forget to release the system by removing any passwords (e.g. BIOS and logging onto the operating system) before returning your notebook. It is the customer's responsibility to back up any data prior to returning the notebook and MAXDATA cannot be held responsible for any lost data.

    After collecting the defective device the repair and return will take place normally within five working days.

    Process for MAXDATA Collect & Return service

    1. With your reseller ensure that the reason for the error is not the result of third party components, or those not authorised by MAXDATA.
    2. Carry out an error diagnosis in order to exclude the possibility of a user or software error.
    3. Check the warranty period and Warranty Conditions to exclude any repair costs.
    4. Contact the MAXDATA Technical Support line to register the hardware defect providing the serial number and a description of the error.
    5. Back up your data before making the warranty claim.
    6. MAXDATA will instruct a courier service to collect the device with appropriate packaging from the location of your choice.
    7. The defective notebook is delivered to the MAXDATA Repair Centre.
    8. After the unit has been repaired it is tested for quality control purposes.
    9. The unit is delivered back to you.

      Please note:

    If desired, you can upgrade the warranty service at time of initial purchase to 24 or 36 months.
